CarteBlanche allows you to send SMS text messages to your clients. This feature can be used to announce
special offers, to remind clients that they have an appointment, to send a
birthday message, etc.
Before using SMS text messaging, you must first set up an account with an SMS gateway. CarteBlanche
is currently set up to interface with four gateways. These are:
- Connection software, a UK based gateway with
worldwide coverage (check their Website to see if your country is covered).
- messagemedia, based in Australia.
- Clickatell, based in South Africa.
- eTXT, based in New Zealand.
The SMS messaging function in CarteBlanche creates an email which is sent by your email client
(Outlook Express, Eudora, etc) to the SMS gateway, from where
it is distributed as SMS messages to the recipients specified in the email.
